f Bomb

the liked likes to like the liked like like likes like to like like
like it?
but it’s not like it
what does it have to do with it?

It’s not it.
it’s what it isn’t.
haven’t I told you this before?

the rats will desert the ship at the first site of shore
where’s my baseball bat?
that’s where it’s at

less ballast for a fleet sail
it’s like arrows on chain mail
what remains are sailors
not ego tailors
they will earn their keep
it’s worth it. not cheap

text in a torrent of bits
amounts to ?
contributing to the disillusionment of hypocrites
they’re in one door and out the next

look, all it is is text
one they’re praising and the other they’re damning
but it ain’t the art, it’s you they’re scammin
no use slammin
they won’t make the connection

I ain’t running for election
elections are for likers
sweet hitchhikers
I campaign a different trail
I don’t turn tail
not to get on a list
so I get dismissed?

what does that mean?
it’s jellybeans
sweets for tooth
you back in that polling booth?

not me
I wanna be free
to see what I damn well see
it could be you
if you wanted it to

or not

what you got?

can I like it?

About Scott Schoffstall

I'm a relatively new poet having started in earnest 11/2010. I have sought the authentic and am still on that quest. I've diverged from the norm yet always reached for the universal. My interests were always beyond the here and now. Beyond the taste, touch, smell, hear, see. Where the mind and the spirit transcend the physical. They say perception is reality. Is it? Are we truly all there is? View all posts by Scott Schoffstall
